Chandsara Agro Farm (An Unit of Goats)

How the idea of goat farming came to me:
Whenever someone asks, “How did you think of goat farming?”—a quiet smile finds its way to my face. It’s not just a business decision. It’s much deeper. This journey wasn't born out of a sudden spark—it was the result of countless thoughts, a longing heart, and memories that never left me.

Today, as I share this part of my story, I’m not writing as an entrepreneur. I’m writing as someone who dared to listen to his inner voice and chose a road that felt honest and close to his soul.

It started with a simple question:
Can I do something meaningful? Something real, grounded, and in harmony with nature?
That question stayed with me through long office hours, during chai breaks, and late at night when silence grew louder.

I had a job, a steady salary, but no joy. I was earning, yes—but not living.
The truth is—I’ve always belonged to the soil. Born and raised in a village, surrounded by green fields, the mooing of cows, and the calmness of slow sunsets—that life had left an imprint on me.

I just didn’t realized how strong that pull would be… until life gave me time to pause.

The turning point—COVID times:
Then came the pandemic. Everything stopped. Cities that once never slept, fell silent.
And suddenly, people started going back—to their homes, their villages, their roots.

Watching the world change made me think deeply:
What are we really running after? Is it worth it if we can’t be close to our loved ones when it matters most?
That’s when the idea truly took shape. I didn’t just want to live—I wanted to live meaningfully, with my family close, and nature even closer.

Why goat farming?
I began exploring different paths—poultry, dairy, fish farming—but something about goat farming felt right. It felt… peaceful.

I spent weeks reading articles, watching videos, even spending late nights on CIRG Mathura’s website. The more I learned, the clearer it became:

Goat farming didn’t need massive land or investment.

It was something I could manage with love, care, and patience.

Goat meat had demand, especially the Black Bengal breed—strong, fast-growing, and with great taste.

But beyond logic, there was emotion. This wasn’t just a project—it was a personal mission.

Taking the first step—Trusting the process:
With hope in my heart and a lot of dreams in my eyes, I started small—15 goats and a few bucks. All Black Bengal, all local.

I’ll never forget those early mornings—checking their health, feeding them, sometimes just sitting quietly beside them. They weren’t animals to me. They were a symbol of the life I was choosing for myself—simple, peaceful, and honest.

And then… came the first successful breeding. That one moment filled me with a kind of joy I hadn’t felt in years. It wasn’t just about business—it was the feeling of doing something right, something real.

Where I stand today:
Today, Chandsara Agro Farm isn’t just land and livestock. It’s a reflection of my journey, my values, and my dreams. Goat farming has taught me more than any job ever did—patience, care, and the quiet strength of believing in yourself.

I may not wear formals anymore, but I wear contentment like a badge. And every day, when I see the sun rise over the fields, I know—I chose the right path.

Goat Farming: Small Investment, Good Income
If you live in a village or small town and want to start your own business, goat farming is a great idea. It needs less money, less space, and gives good profit.

Why Goat Farming?
Low cost, high profit – You can start with 5–10 goats. One female goat gives 4–5 babies every year, so your herd grows fast.

Meat Sells Well – Goat Meat (Chevon) is always in demand and sells at a high price.

Extra Money From Milk – Goat milk is healthy and can also be sold for extra income.

Easy to Take Care of – Goats eat grass, leaves, and even kitchen waste. They don’t need much care.

What You Need:-
A Small Shelter - You can build it with local materials like tin or bamboo.

Good Goat Breeds – Choose breeds like
Black Bengal, Barbari, Jamunapari, or Sirohi etc...

Basic Care – Feed them on time, keep them clean, and give vaccines to keep them healthy.

How Much Can You Earn?
If you start with 10 goats, you can earn ₹1–2 lakh in a year. One healthy goat can be sold for ₹6,000–₹10,000. And as goats give birth often, your farm grows quickly.

Government Support:-
The Government and Banks like NLM / NABARD give loans and subsidies for goat farming. Visit your local animal husbandry office or nearby bank to get help.

Goat farming is simple, smart, and successful. Start small, learn as you go, and grow your income from your own village!

Why Goat Farming is a Profitable Business in 2025

If someone told you five years ago that raising goats could make you serious money, you might’ve laughed it off. But in 2025, goat farming is turning out to be a smart, low-stress business move—and people from villages to cities are catching on.

So, what’s all the fuss about? Let’s talk about why goat farming is becoming one of the most profitable (and honestly, kind of underrated) businesses this year.

1. You Don’t Need a Fortune to Start
One of the best parts? You don’t have to be a big investor. Goat farming doesn’t need fancy equipment or massive land. Just a bit of open space, a basic shed, and a few healthy goats—and you’re good to go. The best part? Goats breed quickly. That means your herd (and your income) grows faster than you'd think.

2. Goat Meat is Always in Demand
Whether it’s a weekend dinner, a wedding feast, or a festival celebration, mutton never goes out of style. In fact, with more people leaning towards organic, farm-fresh meat, goat farming is ticking all the right boxes. It’s tasty, it’s healthy, and people are willing to pay good money for it.

3. Goats Are Low-Maintenance
Goats are surprisingly easy to take care of. They’re not picky eaters (they’ll happily munch on shrubs, grass, and crop leftovers), and they’re super adaptable to different climates. If you're someone juggling multiple things, this is the kind of business that doesn’t need your 24/7 attention.

4. More Than Just Meat
Goat farming isn’t just about selling meat. You can also earn from:

◆ Milk: Great for making ghee, paneer, or even just selling as is. It’s highly nutritious too.
◆ Manure: Goat poop is gold for organic farming. Farmers are happy to buy it.
◆ Breeding: Good quality goats are always in demand. You can earn by selling kids (baby goats) too.

5. Perfect for Rural and Semi-Urban Setups
You don’t need a big city to run a successful goat farm. In fact, rural and semi-urban areas are perfect because land is cheaper, and feed is easily available. Plus, it creates local employment and boosts the village economy.

6. Government Support & Schemes
Yup, the government is also backing goat farming. There are subsidies, training programs, and loans available to help you get started or scale up. All you need to do is tap into the right resources.

Goat farming might not sound glamorous, but in 2025, it’s proving to be a smart, sustainable, and surprisingly profitable business. Whether you’re looking for a full-time venture or a weekend side hustle, this could be your chance to step into the world of agri-entrepreneurship.

So maybe it’s time to stop scrolling and start planning. Who knows—your next big business move might just begin with a “meh.”

🌱 Our Journey – The Roots of Chandsara Agro Farm

At Chandsara Agro Farm, our story began with a clear and heartfelt mission:
To empower rural communities through sustainable and ethical goat farming.

Established in August 2024 in the heartland of Bihar, we started small—with just a handful of goats, minimal resources, and an abundance of dedication. Recognizing the potential of Black Bengal goats—famous for their premium meat and fast maturity—we laid the groundwork for a future rooted in quality, care, and community trust.

Our early days weren’t easy. We faced challenges in building infrastructure, maintaining herd health, and gaining local support. But every obstacle only reinforced our belief in responsible, natural farming.

Are you dreaming of starting a small business that’s low-cost, beginner-friendly, and full of potential? Say hello to Goat Farming! Yes, goats. They’re cute, smart, and they can actually make you money. Whether you live in a village or a small town, this business can be your next big thing.

Here’s how you can get started in just 10 easy steps:

1. Know Why You’re Raising Goats
Milk, meat, or manure – goats are multi-talented! Decide your focus:

Milk (Goat dairy)
Meat (For local or big markets)
Breeding (Selling baby goats)
Organic manure (For farmers)
Choose what fits your area and interest.

2. Pick the Right Goat Breed
Each breed has a purpose. Some famous Indian breeds:
Sirohi – Good for both milk and meat
Jamunapari – Known as the ‘Queen of Goats’ for milk
Boer – Super popular for meat
Ask local farmers or check online videos to learn about these breeds.

3. Plan a Small Budget First
Don’t go big in the beginning. Start small. Your first cost list:
2-5 goats
Shelter (bamboo or tin roof works too)
Feed (green grass, leaves, grains)
Medicine/vet visits
Starting with ₹30,000–₹50,000 is enough for a mini setup.

4. Build a Simple Shelter
Goats don’t need AC rooms! Just a clean, dry, and safe shed.
Use bamboo, bricks, or wood
Good air ventilation
Raised floor to keep them dry
Rain + dirty floor = sick goats = loss.

5. Get Healthy Goats Only
Buy from trusted sellers or farms. Look for:
Bright eyes
Active behavior
No coughing or limping
Tip: Ask for vaccination records!

6. Feed Them Right
Goats love grazing, but you must add:
Green grass
Leaves (banyan, neem, babool)
Grains (wheat bran, chana)
Clean water all day
Healthy goats = healthy profits.

7. Keep a Local Vet on Speed Dial
Sometimes goats get sick. Regular checkups and vaccinations are a must.
Don’t try “Google Baba” for goat diseases – call the vet!

8. Learn From Others
Join WhatsApp groups, follow goat farmers on YouTube, visit local farms.
You’ll learn tricks no book will teach you.

9. Sell Smartly
Festivals, weddings, or local markets – goat prices shoot up.
You can earn ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 per goat in good seasons!
Also, milk and manure have regular buyers like sweet shops or organic farms.

10. Stay Patient & Keep Growing
Goat farming needs care and consistency. Don’t rush for big money in the first 3 months.
Give it 6–12 months, and you’ll see the growth.

Goat farming is not just a business, it’s a smart lifestyle. With the right steps, even a beginner can turn this into a profit-making journey. And guess what? You don’t need a fancy degree – just your time, love for animals, and a little hard work. So, ready to goat for it?
